Alpha 3.1 AC5300:
  1. CPU is pegged out, related to connected USB 3.0 Hard Drive since if I unmount, processor goes down to under 10%.
  2. Can't detect AC88U as AiMesh Node
  3. AiMesh Node Search appears to have an issue as the wheel keeps spinning but nothing happens, no notification of found or unfound nodes. Nothing reported in Logs related to search.
  4. Every 30 seconds I get "rc_service: watchdog 468:notify_rc start_cfgsync" in the log (Router settings are default, no scripts or anything)
 
Flashed an AC68U with 386.1 alpha "3.1" from stock Asus 386.40558. Hard reset then min config. Pleased to report the /jffs was mounted. Hard reset again and added as a node to AC86U with no issues. Not seeing any constantly repeating entries in the log. Nice to be able to turn off LED's in the node. :)
 
Yes. Asus 386 does assign a different subnet to the first Guest networks in the 2.4 and 5 GHZ bands. This is a result of enabling guest networks across the mesh which is a good thing for some of us. Sorry to say the rest of you will have some changes to make to your guest networks.
in next version, does merlin assigns each subnet to each of the rest Guest networks?
 
Flashed my AC68U with Merlin 386.1 Alpha "3.1" from Beta Asus 386.40947. IPv6 was working with no issues using Native (Xfinity Cable) and I could see my LAN IPv6 Address in the Asus IPv6 tab with Asus Beta firmware However, with Merlin Alpha firmware, I can no longer see my LAN IPv6 Address in the Asus IPv6 tab and it is clearly not working for me. I have tried rebooting several times and swaping back and forth between Disabled and Native along with reboots but no success so far. I flashed back to Beta Asus 386.40947 and IPv6 is working again as expected. Am I missing something in the Merlin Alpha firmware? I prefer some of the additional settings in the Merlin firmware over the Asus firmware but I need to have the IPv6 working. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Did you try to actually power cycle your modem? Sometimes you need to refresh your ISP connection as well.
 
Nothing such observed here, everything's fine with latest alpha 3, clean install on AX88U thanks
 
Anyone else having issues upgrading the RT-3100 model from RT-AC3100_386.1_alpha3-g874b3ed69d to RT-AC3100_386.1_alpha3-g88808c14f7? I use it as a node, first time when I updated it, it fell off the aimesh and my main router could not find it. Factory reset it and couldn't find it still or couldn't ping the router.

If I factory reset it and hook it up to my computer, I can get to the web interface that way. Ended up having to roll it back to version RT-AC3100_386.1_alpha3-g874b3ed69d.
 
Changelog is not up to date, only Github log is.

Can someone tell me if it's possible to enable a guest network on a specific AIMesh node? I want to connect my Netatmo camera to a specific node and not be dependant on the network figuring out which node is best (had some issues in the past with AIMesh v1).
 
Installed Alpha3, everytime I load more than one VPN Client at the same time my WAN disconnects.
 
Thanks... missed that. Feature branches based on version merge, good idea.

It`s branched out because I don't have GPLs for the AX models yet, and I wanted to still be able to compile them.

Just a little update running the latest version 386.1 alpha3-1 on the AX88U running fantastic no problem to report on my side
