Running this build since 24h without issues.Work great
I noticed now some of my devices have a new DHCP adress, not the ones they normaly use since almost 2 years.
DHCP is set on Auto
Curious if anyone has tried going from the RT-AC68U Firmware 3.0.0.4.380.3264 from Asus to this. Does it let you? Still on 380.59 myself. Waiting until this going to beta at least.
I was able to build successfully on Mint 17.2 for the AC56 and AC68 after adding the binutils package (different error in executing ranlib).Really odd that the issue doesn't get triggered on my system. Timing issue perhaps?
I'll test your change locally to ensure it doesn't break things for me, and if it still works I'll merge it in.
Fairly sure Asus doesn't really try rebuilding their own GPL. None of the MIPS GPLs build right now, they're all missing private.o...

BTW.....I've also implemented your parallel build script (and added some enhancements)......pretty nifty....
I 'enhanced' it to take individual models on the command line (as many as you want, and some groups (ie legacy)......want a copy?I want to eventually adjust it to make it easier for me to disable specific models (as it's getting quite common for me to be unable to build all models). Just waiting for some inspiration on how best to do it.

Another thing, cosmetic only this one, at http://router.asus.com/Advanced_FirmwareUpgrade_Content.asp page the firmware appears as 3.0.0.4.380.60_alpha2-g25d5734 and there is a "check" button that I assume checks for new firmware via the ASUS servers. This should be fixed as per the earlier versions.
Lol, I didn't actually click the button! The firmware version though should be changed to be consistent with your versioning scheme and not ASUS'.This is by design. I noticed that if the firmware is compiled with live_update disabled (as is the case with low-memory models), the Check button was pointing you at the appropriate download page on Asus's site so you could manually check for new firmwares. I liked the idea, so I decided to do the same, pointing it at my website where you can check for the latest version available on the sidebar. I might change that to point at the download page however.
Runs good here so farLike in the last recent development cycles, I will once again be occasionally uploading alpha builds.

Once again, NO SUPPORT IS PROVIDED for these builds. I welcome any feedback posted in this thread, don't expect responses or immediate fix for any encountered issue. These are pre-beta, therefore they are known to be unfinished builds.
Make sure you read the Changelog before flashing.
If a model isn't available for download, then it's because it's either not working, or can't be compiled at this time. Do not ask for specific models, what's there are the only models available at that time.[/QUOT

What speeds are you getting with astrill vpn?I took the leap of faith and installed Alpha 2 on my 88U - WOW!
Lightning fast responses. Astrill applet is working. This bodes well for this "next generation" firmware from Asus.
Remains to be seen what the WiFi performance is like.
RMerlin, I take back my comment about you having to wait for Asus before releasing a new build
