Running this build since 24h without issues.Work great
I noticed now some of my devices have a new DHCP adress, not the ones they normaly use since almost 2 years.
DHCP is set on Auto

Asus upgraded dnsmasq to 2.76 final. It's possible that dnsmasq changed its IP calculation scheme.

Anyone getting xbox 360/Xbox One having problems opening a upnp port?
i have to do a network test a few times like 3 or 4 before any devices manage to open a port
Never had any upnp problems in the past with merlin

Curious if anyone has tried going from the RT-AC68U Firmware 3.0.0.4.380.3264 from Asus to this. Does it let you? Still on 380.59 myself. Waiting until this going to beta at least.

Yes you can flash back and forth with any 3xxx Asus builds and Merlin's new 380.60 A2. All the older code is a no go.

Really odd that the issue doesn't get triggered on my system. Timing issue perhaps?

I'll test your change locally to ensure it doesn't break things for me, and if it still works I'll merge it in.

Fairly sure Asus doesn't really try rebuilding their own GPL. None of the MIPS GPLs build right now, they're all missing private.o...
I was able to build successfully on Mint 17.2 for the AC56 and AC68 after adding the binutils package (different error in executing ranlib).

BTW.....I've also implemented your parallel build script (and added some enhancements)......pretty nifty....

I'll probably upgrade to the new LTS once it's out (if it's not out already).

Thanks. Does wonder for me, as it prepares all firmware builds, and put them on a LAN share ready for me to upload, all packaged up. It's probably not very customizable as it was designed for my specific environment, but if others are interested in using it, I could try to make it more configurable (such as adding paths into variables at the start of the script).

I want to eventually adjust it to make it easier for me to disable specific models (as it's getting quite common for me to be unable to build all models). Just waiting for some inspiration on how best to do it.

I 'enhanced' it to take individual models on the command line (as many as you want, and some groups (ie legacy)......want a copy?

Sure, could give me some ideas. I probably will implement model selection through variables at the start of the script tho, I prefer to edit the script than start entering a long list of arguments every time I launch the script.

I took the leap of faith and installed Alpha 2 on my 88U - WOW!

Lightning fast responses. Astrill applet is working. This bodes well for this "next generation" firmware from Asus.

Remains to be seen what the WiFi performance is like.

RMerlin, I take back my comment about you having to wait for Asus before releasing a new build :)

I found some time to install 380.60_alpha2-g25d5734. First boot was ok, didn't notice anything different except the annoying redirect to router.asus.com. Later though I discovered that some of my scripts stopped working, curl is no longer part of the firmware and had to install it via entware. Another thing, cosmetic only this one, at http://router.asus.com/Advanced_FirmwareUpgrade_Content.asp page the firmware appears as 3.0.0.4.380.60_alpha2-g25d5734 and there is a "check" button that I assume checks for new firmware via the ASUS servers. This should be fixed as per the earlier versions. That's all I noticed for now, the rest seem to work, Traditional QoS, VPN, IPv6 all work.

This is by design. I noticed that if the firmware is compiled with live_update disabled (as is the case with low-memory models), the Check button was pointing you at the appropriate download page on Asus's site so you could manually check for new firmwares. I liked the idea, so I decided to do the same, pointing it at my website where you can check for the latest version available on the sidebar. I might change that to point at the download page however.

Lol, I didn't actually click the button! The firmware version though should be changed to be consistent with your versioning scheme and not ASUS'.

Like in the last recent development cycles, I will once again be occasionally uploading alpha builds.

Once again, NO SUPPORT IS PROVIDED for these builds. I welcome any feedback posted in this thread, don't expect responses or immediate fix for any encountered issue. These are pre-beta, therefore they are known to be unfinished builds.

Make sure you read the Changelog before flashing.

If a model isn't available for download, then it's because it's either not working, or can't be compiled at this time. Do not ask for specific models, what's there are the only models available at that time.[/QUOT
Runs good here so far

Nice idea!

thanks much as always - since upgrading I saw the following every 5 seconds in dnsmasq log:

dnsmasq[1438]: query[A] www.google.com from 127.0.0.1

worked my way to the top and saw it first requested www.google.com once, then www.baidu.com once, then www.yandex.com once, then back to www.google.com every 5 seconds.

assuming this was maybe happening before but either not going though dnsmasq or not being logged, added an entry in etc/hosts for 0.0.0.0 www.google.com to block and keep the logs clean but curious if anyone else also sees this or has any idea why my ac88u would be making these requests?

What speeds are you getting with astrill vpn?

I used to get about 50M through their Zurich server (not bad considering I'm on the other side of the world) but now I'm getting 80M!

Although, I don't think the firmware can take all the credit - some routing changes at my ISP have slashed ping times from 360ms to 200ms!!!
