Also, is there any messages from udhcpc?

We are getting a wee bit off topic here and wondering if we should move to a new thread. Lord knows there are tons of posts here about this issue. Some searching might be in order.
 
According to ASUS, since 388.23285 the
RT-AX86U Pro will qualify for the ‘Engineered for Intel® Evo™’ designation only when used with firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285 or greater. Please download that update to ensure the best experience in compatibility and performance. After Firmware upgrade, please do factory reset to apply the changes.

Does anyone know what this 'Engineered for Intel Evo designation' actually means and whether this will make any real-world differences? Does it also apply to Asuswrt-Merlin when built upon a GPL greater than 23285?

Just debating whether or not it's worth me doing a factory reset on my AX86U_Pro after installing 3004.388.4 just for this...

Nothing out of the ordinary. Your router is scanning for suitable 160MHz channels.
 
Been on stock Asus firmware for quite some time. Decided to try the 388.4_beta working good on AX86S. Thanks @RMerlin.

Updated, hopefully this will solve one of my amcrest cameras occasionally falling off wifi which started with 388.2_2.

Running smooth so far, though my RT-AX68U is only in access point mode and not routing so it's not a "challenging" setup.
 
Does the log actually say eth%? That is way off. I'm afraid that is well beyond me.

SSH into your router and issue a ifconfig command and see if the eth0 interface (the wan) exists. If so, then something is not getting the right interface name.
I gave up I tried everything, Reverted back to the 3.0.0.4.388.23012 stock and it connects perfectly, something in that firmware is not right.

Sorry to hear. I meant to write and ask you to open a ssh shell and try service restart_udhcpc to see if your wan got an ip. Just curious that everything works ok if you unplug and plug in your cable unless the eth0 interface is late getting ready on boot in your case.

Reverted to Merlin 388.2 and it is and has been rock solid. Will try again when its in release state. I just hope this issue is resolved at that time.

Flawless on my RT-AX86U - many thanks for your persistent efforts to bring quality Merlinware to us all.
Look fwd to the release version when you ready and have had time to wrangle with the remaining Asus GPL's. :D

Doubt it would be worth it - "Engineered for Intel Evo" seems to just be an indication of minimum specifications/compatibility,

Ah, thank you for this. I couldn't find much info on it, but I was looking more specifically for how it applied to routers. Good to know. Seems like it would only apply if I had Intel Evo laptops connected, and even then, only if it was using the router's factory default settings, which I don't believe I am at this point. Plus, not sure that it wouldn't only apply to stock fw, and merlin's added sauce might void this 'verification' anyway.

Good to know I don't have to go through the hassle for something not vital. Thanks :)

Flashed the new beta version but having speedtest troubles. Did a full reset but missing some speed. Have a 400/40 line but getting hardly 300 download with the beta version. Flashed back to 3.0.0.6.102_21514 and speed is back at 400/40. Anyone else this problem with the GT-AX6000? Also tried alfa build but is the same. Missing the full speed of my isp.

Same here. I'm seeing ~1.1 Gbps/40 Mbps on 1 Gbps/35 Mbps Spectrum connection. NO QoS...

Thanks for the reply. Qos is off. Did full reset and changed nothing. Tested on a pc and by wifi. Both missing some speed. Dirty flash back to 3.0.0.6.102_21514 and speed is back. Very strange....
 
Dirty upgrades since 388.1 Now on 388.4_b2 uptime 20 hours. No issues, all good.

That should be Beta1 not 2, unless you are compiling changes yourself.
