Really no idea what is wrong - and of course I understand I am using hardly tweaked configuration with lots of addons, but...

Well, RT-AX86U. When I dirty upgraded from 388.7 to 388.8.2 I cannot log in neither by web interface nor by SSH. The Internet was down also.
I performed hard reset - and upload my configuration - and it's OK. But once I upload jffs backup and reboot - the problem appears also. I can remove Entware HDD and it doesn't help. Several reboots also doesn't help.

I spent a day removing folders in jffs backup but it seems it doesn't matter: jffs restore = soft brick.

388.8 causes same problem. And I really think it is caused by some changes in ntp algorithm during booting up.

Have to skip this update for a while.

Time for reset and manual setup

Agreed. This latest version required that for me having come from several previous versions with dirty upgrade. And loading saved config would not function properly. Manual setup fixed everything.

Loading config is not an issue, but loading jffs backup (even empty!) causes an issue.
Taking into account few reports about problems with loading jffs I suspect the problem is inside.

I'm having problems with firmwares 3004.388.8 and 3004.388.8_2 on my two RT-AX88U (AiMesh router + AiMesh node - Wired Backhaul). Using either of these firmwares, I have constant connection losses, both Wi-Fi and Ethernet. All connected devices have the status "connected, but no internet". The only solution is to restart the router and, even then, sometimes, when restarting it can't connect to the internet provider, having to turn it off, wait a while and turn it on again.
I did a clean install with factory reset before and after.
I downgraded to firmware 3004.388.7 and I have no problems.
I don't have any add-ons installed and I don't use a VPN.
(NOTE: I also had this problem with firmwares 3004.388.6 and 3004.388.6_2.)
Thanks!

Hello, I'm commenting on a problem I have in case someone can help me.

I currently have AX86U Pro + AX58 on AiMesh

I present the following problems.

1- If I manage any change or restart from the AX86U Pro, the AX58 remains stuck and does not distribute internet, it does emit Wi-Fi but I cannot navigate, I have to restart manually to have internet again.

2- In the AiMesh window, I see that there are devices that connect and disconnect, even devices that go by cable, but at no time do I see that I have any interruption

I'm waiting in case anyone knows what it could be, thank you very much.

Is your AX58 mesh node also on Merlin? I've had better success with the Mesh master on Merlin and the mesh nodes on stock firmware.

RP-AX58 does not have Merlin firmware, it has the Asus base.

By the way, I also notice that my guest wifi does the same thing. Everything that is connected there disconnects and connects but I have no complaints about disconnection.

For example, in this screenshot only the computers on my 192.168.2.X network appear, and then all the devices on the guest network appear at once (network used for IoT).
