Upgraded both be98 pros from 102.1 to 102.2 with no issues. Always do it via my pc hardwired. I did have an odd hickup on my s22 ultra where it kept reconnecting to the wifi. Restarted phone and both routers and it was all good then.

I was actually surprised to see better range and speeds I am getting on the 5ghz all of a sudden after update. It's definitely improved in the same areas where I do some quick speedtests. Not sure if anyone else noticed. I havent checked the 6ghz difference yet. Might turn off the smart connect and test that way. I only use the 5 and 6 ghz on smart connect and it actually works not bad at all.

I really wish asus would allow mlo to be configured on just the 5ghz and 6ghz only instead of all 4 bands. Wonder if the bq16 pro behaves same way.

Everything is running smoothly sofar. Thank you Merlin.

Zero changes to wireless. Your improvement comes from the reboot, quite possibly the router using a different channel, or a change in your environment between both tests.

Yea most likely. Can't complain. :)

I have turned MLO off for now. I think I will wait until some additional releases and or fixes happen before I spend a weekend on it figuring out how MLO works and what I need to change in my home network.

Having 10g to my QNAP NAS is great....

Can someone remind me if I can save my settings on stock firmware on my GT-BE98 Pro flash merlin and then restore the settings? Or do I need to manually set everything back up after flashing merlin? Been literally like 5 years or something since I last freshly installed merlin

IMHO, start afresh.

I prefer to just restore config, but have had issues at times, and had to start fresh. I have 120+ hosts on my network so it's a painful process to re-input client names, which is why I'm always hesitant and last resort fresh start. I do find though the system tends to purr nicely when I do.

Is this version vulnerable to the malware attacks that have been aggressively patched by Asus in the last few days with dozens of firmware updates being released for various model, some receiving multiple updates days apart.

Just wondering whether to go on latest stock until next update, or whether this version is alright

This Asuswrt-Merlin version is unlikely to contain latest patches to proprietary closed source Asuswrt components. Asus started releasing patched firmware just days ago and perhaps RMerlin will receive whatever is needed to patch Asuswrt-Merlin shortly after.
