I have a 68U B1. Is there any reason for this firmware to slightly reduce wireless speeds on both bands?
did you factory reset like it said in the release notes? When I disable Trafic Analyser on my AC68U the web interface completely freeze and is unaccesible but network still working
AC66U in AP mode :
- 2.4GHz broken
- no "Preamble Type" option in 5GHz professional.
When i tested on RT-AC68U was it set to LONG Preamble and i set it to short on 5.0Ghz.This is not a bug, this is by design. Asus removes that field unless the router is based on Qualcomm or Ralink. I assume that's because Broadcom hardcodes it to Short on the 5 GHz band.
Thanks a lot for this clarification. This is not a bug, this is by design. Asus removes that field unless the router is based on Qualcomm or Ralink. I assume that's because Broadcom hardcodes it to Short on the 5 GHz band.
I just flashed to 380.57 (ac68U), and lost the 2.4Ghz wifi too, however I did not factory reset. Oops -I did now, Everything (devices on 2.4Ghz) so far seems to be working on default settings for me. (so far)
Thank you RMerlin for your work.
I did
- factory reset, hard reboot
- flashed 380.57
- factory reset, hard reboot
2.4Ghz is gone, devices look connected but without real IP I think or something like that.
I had that too, a exclamation point next to the wifi connected icon on Android devices, I couldn't get anymore info from the mobile devices.I did
- factory reset, hard reboot
- flashed 380.57
- factory reset, hard reboot
2.4Ghz is gone, devices look connected but without real IP I think or something like that.
...
I noticed this line in the ASUS 1031 fix list pertaining to the 2.4 band:
"- Fixed wireless channel issue when set 2.4G channel in 12 or 13 (only for EU region)"
Since this was the only change listed for the 2.4 band, even though this was supposed to only effect the EU region hardware and refers to specific channels, I wonder if this still has something to do with the problem? . ?
