Thanks Eric, loving now that the host names are consistent on different sections of the gui and I am no longer having to work out what mac address I am being show.

This probably keeps the water muddy, but I have seen no problems with IPv6 using 380.59 on my RT-AC3200 with Comcast.

Following up - tried this version again after a factory reset, then reapplying settings manually. IPv6 is fine now. Must have been something carrying up in the older .58 config DB. Sorry for the confusion.

Hello guys
is this release now stable on RT-AC68 U? i'm still stuck with the 378.56_2 version of merlin firmware due to those issues that would give dead wifi and all that and that depended on asus side .
i tried to scroll fast through the 32 pages but it's still not clear to me if it's good for my version or not.. shall i stick to my 378.56_2?

Thank you!!

I would not recommend you stick with that old version.

If you have previously tried 380.59 and found it wanting, what was the issue (do you have a thread or post about your issues)?

You may want to try the 380.60 alpha 2 versions (at your own risk). For a lot of people, they are the most current, stable and usable builds right now.

i haven't tried any version apart from the 378.56_2 , because i had read a lot of comments in the latest versions ( like the one that merlin published in january februray and so on) talking about issues of dead wifi on 2,4 ghz and things like that , so what should be the best version for me to try it out?
thank you!

I would suggest flashing 380.59 final first of all. Do a full reset to factory defaults and then manually and minimally configure the router to secure it and connect to your ISP. Do not use a saved backup config file and I would also recommend you use new ssid's too (you can use the same password if you like) both (ssid and passwords) with only alphanumeric characters included.

If you find any issues with 380.59 that the forum here can't help you with, consider moving to the 380.60 alpha builds. Just keep in mind that once you do, you may not be able to switch to older builds afterwards.

I would avoid the official Asus builds for that very reason too at this time (they may lock out the choice to choose which (older) build you run on your router at any time going forward).

Could some kind soul help a total newbie? I'd like to try the Merlin firmware on my AC88U. According to the first post in this thread, the download page is https://asuswrt.lostrealm.ca/download. When I go there, I get an 404 page not found error, and it seems to be a web site about SEO for WordPress. Am I missing something? Where do I download the Merlin firmware?

Thanks for any info.

Looks like my provider's SNI is still crap. Access it over http instead of https.

I just opened a support ticket with them, we'll see... Hopefully their tech support actually knows what SNI is...

Thank you very much L&LD & RMerlin. As you noted, the "http:" address works, but the "https:" address goes somewhere else. Thanks again.

RMerlin, I just tried the https address and it works now (it didn't just an hour ago). :)

Yes, my provider just closed the ticket, having resolved it.

Their response time is once again damn good considering this is a "bargain" shared hosting provider. I've been dealing with them for over 10 years now (both personally and for work - we used to rent dedicated servers from them before they split into two separate companies), and they've always had excellent support.

I used to deal with another bargain provider a few years ago for a gaming forum I was managing for me and a group of friends. The one year we spent with them was horrible. 24 hours was the typical response time to any ticket (and I logged quite a few over this one year). I eventually closed it, and simply moved the forum to a sub-account of my personal hosting account.

Funio (my current provider) answered and resolved today's ticket within 45 minutes. I definitely recommend them for anyone looking into shared hosting. They even provide you with a full cPanel interface now (they used to only offer their cut-down private skin, but not any more). Plus, they're located right here in Montreal :)

Hopefully this SNI issue was a one-time fluke.

Works for me. Do a factory default reset, and manually reconfigure your router.

I did a factory reset and all settings left on default. When I flashed firmware 380.59 thats when the 5ghz led stopped staying on after a reboot but the 5ghz WiFi is working if I flash a older firmware like the last one the led would stay on after a reboot it's like some setting is not serveing the reboot or not serveing thank you for your reply sir

my ac-66u 5ghz leds work as they should

380.59 drops media streaming services after a while. 380.58 does not have this issue.

Same here, since 380.59 i'm loosing the connection to the web UI, SSH, NFS. The only way to get it back is by removing the power cord and put it back.
