Does Asuswrt Merlin 388.1 Beta allow wireguard clients outside the LAN to be routed through router's own wireguard client to VPN supplier?

Thanks.
If I understand you correctly, yes. My phone has a Wireguard connection to my router, I use VPN Director to route that clients IP through my Wireguard link to Torguard, my VPN provider..

That was actually what I meant. Thank you very much.

AX88U*2 and AX56U are updated all to Beta1 from latest Alpha1.
No issues to report so far (20m after 10m stabilizing).

I do have to say that WiFi Optimization process is way better.
well, it actually works for starters.

Thank you @RMerlin Eric for all your hard work you put into it.

I have the same problem as with the last two alpha builds for GT-AXE16000.

The 388 beta firmware will not flash. It indicates that it has uploaded with no failure messages but once rebooted it remains on 386.8.
I can flash Asus and Merlin 386.8 but not this one.

Any way to troubleshoot?

HB
Have you attempted to flash through the CFE server or did you just use the Recovery tool?

I know AIMesh is closed-source, but just reporting...

388.1 beta AX86U with AX86S hardwired node, ethernet backhaul only turned on.

If the node is on stock, AIMesh works fine.

If the node is on merlin, it reports as connection being severed, but still assigns clients there.
Same, and everything is working. Didn't go so far as to flash with stock, but same here. Reboot order doesn't matter, rebooting the node after everything is up, doesn't matter. Shows degraded on connection quality, but also says "Great". Then shows the connection severed, Ethernet port shows it's green...

Upon further inspection, the USB ports are off as well. Both Mesh nodes have USB sticks (with Swap files) but only one shows as having a USB stick in the AiMesh GUI. Ethernet ports seem fine, looks as if 2 have devices connected I just need to double check it's the same ports and speed. The two devices on each (TV and DTV stream) probably do connect at 100Mb I just never looked before and since there's no way to set the speed in either's GUI I suspect that's not an issue.

Flashed to my RT-AX86U. Performed a hard reset. Reconfigured and everything seems to be working well. I tried to disable Spanning-Tree Protocol, the router rebooted, and it re-enabled itself. Disabled it again with same results.
I suspect Asus forces it to enabled in some situation, for example when using AiMesh. I don't see it in the source code, but there are multiple references to it within the closed source portions.

In VPN Director: if I select an entry to edit, the focus should change to the editing box which because of my long list, opens off the top of the screen. At first sight "edit" does not appear to work as the editing box is not visible.
CSS bug preventing panel positioning from working, fixed.
When a WG client is enabled, the WG client name appears on the next line.
HTML error, fixed.
DNSFilter old link which goes nowhere now needs updating.
I missed that reference because it was within a dictionary file rather than the page code, fixed.

So obviously not "End Of Life" yet, no need to abandon AC routers yet. If a feature freeze is what is in store with security updates, bring it on. This is still way more support than any other company would give.
Agree. Time and technology always leave people behind:) I'm more than happy with my Merlin-powered AC86U, so a feature freeze doesn't bother me. Happy and grateful that Merlin will continue to provide updates when he can, and that Merlin development will continue on new routers.

I ran into an issue.

AXE-16000

I did a clean flash (flash then factory reset using WPS button) to 388.1 beta. Reconfigured all my settings. The moment I enable AIProtection the router starts going into a boot loop.

I can access the GUI for a few moments before it reboots, and so I'm able to disable AIProtection quickly and then the boot loop stops.

I have a single AIMesh node (AC88U, 386.7_2). My setup is very basic. No VPNs. Most features disabled.

Any additional info I can provide?

Which specific AiProtection feature are you enabling? I have Malicious Website Blocking enabled on my own GT-AXE16000 without any issue.

When I toggle this on, the GUI does the percentage based incrementing until it finishes. Then it restarts, and starts boot looping. All three individual features turn on when I toggle the main AIProtection.

Shouldn't there be a section here that allows you to check for the latest signatures? Or does that only appear when AIProtection is enabled?

When I try flashing my RT-AC88U with the latest 388.1 beta, my router shut off and would not cut back on.

I tried its latest firmware,

75116af71ad876bf089967c9f47c81d89aca69903981627f32f7fdf2d518e27b RT-AX88U_388.1_beta1_ubi.w

But it did not work!. Yikes. I am at a loss at what I should do.

Try withdrawing from the disclaimer, and then try to enable AI-Protect. It will pop up a new disclaimer, just hit accept like you normally would. See if that resolves the problem.

I work from home and have work in the morning. So I don't feel comfortable testing that tonight.

I will absolutely give that a shot when I have some free time. Tuesday evening at the latest.

Thank you for the help.

Look at your System Log for any lines that contain "crashlog" during the reboot, and post their content.
