I know AIMesh is closed-source, but just reporting...

388.1 beta AX86U with AX86S hardwired node, ethernet backhaul only turned on.

If the node is on stock, AIMesh works fine.

If the node is on merlin, it reports as connection being severed, but still assigns clients there.
Same thing happens for me with 2 AX86U on 388.1 beta.

I was also missing an ac86u from the aimesh connected wirelessly. A hardwired ac86u was shown fine.

I rebooted everything and then the wireless ac86u was there.

Found vpn director can't edit clients, goes dirctly to "save settings"
It will show "Saving" for a few seconds to give time to the router to copy the selected unit to nvram, and after that it will switch to the client page.

nd Ethernet port not display properly (have done Ctrl-F5 clear browser cache)
Ctrl-F5 won't work because that panel is in an iframe, you'd have to force-reload the iframe itself. That's why it's recommended to clear the browser cache instead(, or wait for it to expire).

did you mean 300-350 max for the vpn client or for the entire network?
Entire network. This value was a rough estimate however, the actual throughput will depend on multiple factors.

Thanks, I was unsure how should work but working as you described.

I just updated from RT-AX88U_388.1_alpha1-g0ca7941c3e.zip to the latest 388 beta for my AX88 router.

The first impression is that everything still works fine.

However, in the VPN director layout I noticed a small 'issue':

When a WG client is enabled, the WG client name appears on the next line.
When a WG client is disabled, then the WG client name appears at the same line.
Not so exciting but I wanted to report this.

The GUI part where the OpenVPN clients are shown, looks OK.

Thanks for this release :)

Dirty upgrade from alpha with no issues.

Nice job on VPN Director @RMerlin !

Did you reset to defaults and hand configure?
If nothing obvious appears in next day or two, will grind through a GT-AX6000 reload of settings & apps to prove what it is/isn't. Noted @hancox on append #60 seems to have this same issue as myself.

I just purchased two RT-AX92U routers to setup as AIMESH nodes with a GT-AX11000 as the main router. Will I need to divert back to stock firmware on the GT-AX11000 to run the two RT-AX92Us as AIMESH nodes? Or, will they work correctly using Merlin 388.1 Beta on the GT-AX11000? Thanks in advance.

No. In fact some feel it better to use Asus firmware on the nodes.

Upgraded RT-AX68U and there is a visible bug not showing clients. Not sure someone mentioned this bug previously?

When running Wireguard and hardware acceleration enabled is HW acceleration working on all 4 cores?

I have just registered here to thank you for your service @RMerlin. Thank you for adding Wireguard support, it's epic fast and so easy to use. Running merlin on Asus RT-AX88U and RT-AC68U and it's a blessing.

I ran into a weird issue where my clients suddenly disconnect when using manual DHCP though (prior 388.1 beta too), didn't have much time to debug yet but I will look forward to report more about it.

Has anyone successfully connected an AiMesh node to a GT-AXE16000 router (Merlin 388.1 Beta 1)? I am having an issue pushing guest network 1 (Intranet disabled) to the node because the VLAN info is not being pushed forward. It appears that the same issue occurs with Merlin 386.8_0. I am fully understand that AiMesh is closed source, but I am looking for assistance in troubleshooting. We can take this to a separate thread if necessary.

From the router:
Code:
$ brctl show
bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces
br0 8000.a036bc71b4f0 yes eth1
                            eth10
                            eth2
                            eth3
                            eth4
                            eth5
                            eth6
                            eth7
                            eth8
                            eth9
br1 8000.6236bc71b4f1 yes eth1.501
                            eth10.501
                            eth2.501
                            eth3.501
                            eth4.501
                            eth5.501
                            eth6.501
                            eth7.501
                            eth8.501
                            eth9.501
                            wl3.1
From the AiMesh node:
Code:
$ brctl show
bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces
br0 8000.a85e45adbe50 no eth0
                            eth1
                            eth2
                            eth3
                            eth4
                            eth5
                            wl0.1
                            wl1.1
br1, defining VLAN 501, is not forwarded to the node, the 2.4 GHz guest network 1 is not available on the node.

This works correctly on the GT-AX6000 with Merlin 388.1 Beta 1 (from an AiMesh node):
Code:
$ brctl show
bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces
br0 8000.04421a587b78 no eth0
                            eth1
                            eth2
                            eth3
                            eth4
                            wl0.1
                            wl0.5
                            wl1.1
br1 8000.04421a587b7b yes eth0.501
                            eth1.501
                            eth2.501
                            eth3.501
                            eth4.501
                            wl0.1.501
                            wl0.2
                            wl1.1.501
My next step in tracking this down is to revert to the latest Asus baseline (test only).

EDIT: The same thing happens with latest Asus baseline firmware (3.0.0.4_386_50168).

Installed 388 Beta for AX88U this morning. WAN Agg working again.
Thank you, @RMerlin

Does Asuswrt Merlin 388.1 Beta allow wireguard clients outside the LAN to be routed through router's own wireguard client to VPN supplier?

Thanks.
