From the debug provided....i wonder why the Learn-from-Home category is not showing at bottom (1:17). It's currently showing File Transfer unless you made an update to the categories.

I switched back to using "fq_codel". Haven't experienced a random reboot like I did when it said "ASUS".

Bufferbloat is still an A.

I switched back to using "fq_codel". Haven't experienced a random reboot like I did when it said "ASUS".

Bufferbloat is still an A.

Unlike the post you referred to, mine is not unused, thus why the higher priority.

Anything that can be buffered can be put at the bottom of the list. PCs or devices that can buffer the playback like youtube videos, netflix, etc go to the bottom. This includes anything like Udemy. Realtime apps should go at the top: zoom, webex, voip, video conference. There is no buffer for these as they have realtime streams. Some TVs are a pain since the buffer isn't large enough so they may need priority if it's important. That's why normally you should have web surfing, streaming, file transfers and learning from home at the bottom. 'Others' can go at the top without issue. There is also no harm in having gaming at the top even if you don't use it. DNS should include 853 and 443 redirections so normally it is good to have a rule with regards to anything going to your dns server should be 'net control'
The web is best effort for the ISP so even though you tag it, the telco doesn't listen to it unless it's a privately owned circuit. They already prioritize the way they want.
With a 30meg uplink, QoS is still useful, as you don't want dropbox or similar chewing up all the uplink bandwidth and the router can send out rtp and voip traffic in better proportions.

The first step should be to change QoS Mode in FlexQoS from fq_codel to ASUS and see if the problems remain. I have no way to troubleshoot this myself.
Any idea for next step on troubleshooting? I did the above advice and the reboots were still present. I removed the addon and I returned stable state with no reboots for >2 days.

With Adaptive QoS enabled (but not FlexQoS), let’s look for anything different in the default setup.
Code:
tc qdisc
tc class show dev br0
tc class show dev $(nvram get wan_ifname)
tc filter show dev br0
tc filter show dev $(nvram get wan_ifname)
cat /tmp/bwdpi/qosd.conf
No idea what we’re looking for, since I suspect the issue is in some closed-source kernel module.

If I understood right, I have adaptive QoS enabled, I didn't install FLexQoS and run the above commands one by one and captured the outcome. Here is the attached txt. Many thanks in advance. In my case, I typically don't do anything special with QoS, just enable Adaptive QoS, select customized priorities of the categories, and then install FlexQoS that's all pretty much. I don't use special rules etc.

Not much to see in the output, which isn‘t surprising, really. Can you post the output of lsmod? I see Asus made some netfilter customizations for a new “router boost / deDupeTx” feature on some models, as well as new code in netfilter xt_mark.c. Starting to feel the black box closing in…

so WAN type is automatic and Asus router gets Public IP?

I just tried to upgrade my second RT-AX86U Pro, which has a diffrent WAN type. This one is PPPoE and gets directly the Public IP, but the issue appeared. Therefore, while it was in 388.4 beta 2 there was no reboot issues, right after I upgraded to 388.4 the reboot problem appeared within 30 minutes. I just uninstalled FlexQoS and leaved Adaptive QoS active. Will monitor and see.

I have only had one wild reboot when running flexqos on 388.4. I had all my flexqos rules maxed out with iptables. I haven't had a random reboot since I switched to only using default flexqos rules. That has been several days no reboot already.

Thansk for the info...I know you dont game but If you create a rule i.e. Gaming rule (default) with a static IP, do you think it would cause any reboot issues? Just curious. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Another longshot would be to revert to the version of the script prior to v1.3.3 which came out between beta2 and final. It would be 1.3.2 plus a hotfix from December 2022.
Bash:
/usr/sbin/curl "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dave14305/FlexQoS/f4008f40e78bd05de7abf01f8868243ae0adeafc/flexqos.sh" -o /jffs/addons/flexqos/flexqos.sh --create-dirs
chmod +x /jffs/addons/flexqos/flexqos.sh
sh /jffs/addons/flexqos/flexqos.sh -install

nope. tried the script above and no love. reboots on 88pro running 388.4.
