i'm having the same issue with my n66 (i thought it's related to my dirty downgrading from 380.70)PM sent
My advice is not to go down the router transmit power rabbit hole. I have been in and out of it and trust me you will get a lot more mileage by choosing a wireless channel on your router that is-
1) different than those around you (to decrease interference) for both 2.4 and 5.0 GHz.
2) one of the higher (I currently use 161) 5.0 GHz channels (they have higher power output max in the US I believe).
To answer your question- mine is at 80 mW and playing around with it has gained me zero things.
You could also consider-
3) moving the router around you might be amazed at the difference in speed a small move in just the antennas or location/height can make (I know I was).
4) calling the whole thing off and going wired. If you can do this, you will not be disappointed. After wasting a lot of time screwing around with power/QOS/positioning/antennas, I just gave up and went wired. I will never go back.
Other potential ways to increase throughput-
5) Increase bandwidth to 40 MHz.
6) Powerline adapters.
7) Again, wired is king. By a long shot.
I´m slowly crawling back out into the light after being many meters below the surface. Tried various firmwares, power settings, and so on.
Must admit I do enjoy the hunt for better settings quite a lot, but as an supposed adult I must not spend time at these kinds of things. What´s really irritating though is that I actually managed to get one sick score. Usually when I run iperf I get around 30-50 mbit/s, but using Johns fork w/ an AC68U I all of a sudden got 96,6 Mbit/s over 2,4Ghz!
Even though I carefully store the results of each measurement + the settings which I think is relevant, I haven´t ever been able to reproduce the score. I don´t live in a crowed area and to my knowledge nothing has changed in the wifi channel landscape. It is these kinds of miracles that can make me go down the rabbit hole again! But I wont

Dual wan has worked for some....not for others (across all the ASUS/Merlin releases). If you do try it, make sure 'Redirect to error page' is set to 'Link or WAN down' on the main WAN page, as this setting performs additional function when in dual wan mode.Hi,
Does dual wan work on your N66U with 33E4 release?
LAN > DHCP Server > Manually Assigned IP around the DHCP listHow do i name my devises in Clientstatus?
I changed the router IP but it didn't prompt me to change the dhcp client ip pool, and simply updated the router ip which was then rendered inaccessible understandably.
Yeah got it working.Just set a static IP on the same subnet on whatever device you’re trying to access the router.
Sorry, but I can't recreate it.....I get the prompt to reset the dhcp pool.As far as i remember, on 23e4 it prompted me to also update the dhcp ip addresses pool before applying the change to the router's ip address.
Hi JohnPM sent
Hi John
just flashed the latest release 33E7, all looking good and no problem connecting to WAN.
thanks again for all your efforts on this, it is much appreciated.
factory defaults ?Lost the 5ghz band when I uploaded to 33e7. Went from 31e6. Went to 32e4 and 5g back. Ac66u mips.
Did not save syslog but, did notice 5g channel set at 0 from gui wifi icon that was halved. Tried changing channels and disabling/ reenabling 5g and rebooting router to none effect.
