It is a difficult question...
The big difference is that RMerlin FW is public, compliant with GPL, FCC and other rules, opposite to HGG one which is a private customization of RMerlin FW

Hi,

What's the difference between this mod and Merlins'?
I want to reply before this thread gets locked or disappeared.

HGG is based on RMerlins firmware, but it includes XOR scramble patch for OpenVPN, and nano text editor among other stuff.

Yes I know, I read about it.
IMHO I feel they shouldn't be stubborn, review the code, and un-reject it.

edit: Anybody who is interested please back me up here.

You realize that once such a patch becomes mainstream, it will be trivial for China to adapt their firewall to also detect it?

Staying "below the radar" is the only way this workaround will remain effective.

i know i post it :)) but i did not had chance to test it, have been couple of those days when if you leave the house without wifi you die :D

so can you give a little feedback ? what new drivers are in ? is there a difference between this and 380.58.1 ?

Thanks in advance.

I Don't think its available yet... i don't see any 380.59 version on the link in the change-log file.
The change-log also states
380.59: (17 JUN 16)

Just "wetransferred" the 59_final to someone here in The Netherlands. From a very disappointed user he became extremely happy with the coverage of his brand new AC87U.

:)
