I have a little issue on my rt-ac88u with the leds. Sometimes when the connection is lost and comes back, the led don't turns to white. It stays on red.
And sometimes after a reboot the power led doesn't turn white when boot is finished. Its only off.

Kind regards
Chris

Have you changed anything regarding the LED's such as any custom scripting ? My LEDs work fine on my AC88U with the latest firmware 380-62_1. I have not used any special scripts.

Never seen this before either. Says I have 2 devices connected through my AppleTV 3. Nothing is connected but the AppleTV.

I have an Apple TV3 and an Apple TV4. If I leave the names essentially the same, Apple-TV3 and Apple-TV4, the router thinks I have two devices on the same IP. I renamed the Apple-TV4 to TV4-Apple and the issue went away.

I use assigned IP's and something in the table saw the two devices as one.

It's normal. It's part of Apple's Bonjour Sleep Proxy. The AppleTV typically acts as the sleep proxy server and takes ownership of other Apple device IP addresses when they go to sleep. If another device on the network tries to access the sleeping device, the Apple TV gets the packets, and wakes up the sleeping device using WOL.

Hey, everyone! Dustin here, hoping to ask the CFW Router Gods potentially stupid questions in hopes I can get my RT-AC66U back to the way it used to be, and better than what it was.. Here's what I'm working with, I hope I included the majority or all of the necessary information, and in the event that I didn't I will reply back in the best timely fashion and manner I am currently capable of! Also, ANY information is extremely helpful! I want to learn this side of the router life so that I can hopefully one day pass this along to someone who is in a situation like mine.

Outside of the recommended factory resetting the router, rebooting it to free up extra RAM/Memory so that way it doesn't reject the new firmware, I download the most current firmware from Merlin, so I just want to make sure I am currently able to flash over because the firmware numbering from Asus doesn't really match up which what I've downloaded or read about. Which if it does, I apologize, this is my first time really diving into the custom firmware scene for routers..

Router - ASUS RT-AC66U
Firmware Verison - 3.0.0.4.380_4005-ge00c831
Modem - Motorola SB6180 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem
Plan/Speed - 200Mbps down / 10Mbps up (Only been pulling 40-90Mbps down and 3-7Mbps up since the last 2 firmware updates...)
WHAT I WANT TO FLASH/INSTALL - Asuswrt-Merlin // File name "RT-AC66U_380.62_1.zip"

Obviously it will have to be unzipped prior to checking the checksum, and choosing the file to flash to the router, but would I be OK to flash this current release over to my AC66U? I apologize for the wall of text, but I wasn't sure what to include, what not to include, etc.. So I wanted to be informative as possible. Again any help is appreciated and if there are any other questions I will be around for a while to answer them. Thanks again, everyone!

Hi, no i changed nothing. I have only an openvpn server running and a usb disk is on the back port (usb2).
It happens only sometimes. I had problems with my modem so i rebooted the asus 8 times. Once the network led don't turned to white (stays red) and once the power led turned off after finishing reboot.
The system has no problems. All is working.

I only want to inform the dev.

Kind regards
Chris

I like the QOS stats page you've added in 380.63 alpha. Reminds me of Tomato. (I really liked Tomato back on my N66U) I'm assuming next you'll make it auto refresh itself?

This might not be the right place to start, and yes, I am new to this game.

As I have the Asus RT-AC87U router, I have tried to connect to the Wtv VPN provider. On their webbsite they had a reference to RT AC66U on how to connect with OpenVPN client, and I used this information. This was presented together with other Asus routers RT 87U etc.

The SNBForums do mention the firewalls, and I have disconnected as far as I am able to know, but after several trials I need help on how to connect.

My PC runs Windows 10 with Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Norton Security.

The RT AC87U runs Asuswrt Merlin 380.62 1

As soon as I connect VPN, the “VPN STATUS” show “OpenVPN Client 1” etc. a little moment, and then it show “stopped” as well as the “Server”s.

Frost

Sorry but it is not helpful. Search for openvpn in logg. Need to know why client1 shut down when trying to start it.

For some reason I have been blocked to post reply "--openvpn in log"?
