Still getting the paid app error after factory reset and reconfigure..

Mine used spam exactly the same as yours - I have an up time of 5 hours with nothing in the log.

I was only up 30 minutes and the errors started. Now I'm getting them every 15 minutes it seems. The log is huge.

Even when I had QOS turned off I still got the errors in my log - up 6hrs and log is clean.
Try turning off QOS for awhile and see if they persist.
If they do I have my own suspicions that the reset option does not completely clear the entire system as I still have items in my web history from up to 3 weeks ago - strange.

I don't think factory resetting or toggling QoS is an issue.

I flashed the firmware without factory resetting, had QoS enabled... it's been running for a couple hours now with no paid app messages and a handful of one-off minor errors in the log.

The only thing I did was reboot the router via the reboot function immediately after flashing the firmware.

this firmware actually broke QoS adaptive mode for me, its not balancing the bandwidth correctly compared to the other beta firmwares from the chinese sites.
 
Upgraded to 15564, restored to factory defaults and set up fresh. Also enabled IPS. Will report back findings soon as events happen. After 10-15 minutes, things are stable so far.

EDIT: That didn't last long. Half an hour of uptime then, like the prior FW builds, all wired connections dropped. WiFi still fine. Connected via WiFi on my laptop and a ping to all wired devices (only 4 of them) failed, pings to WiFi connected devices succeeded. Somethings really wrong with my router's LAN ports.

EDIT: After hardbooting the router, it happened again after a few seconds. Going back to 11243. This version is trash. Finally opened a ticket with Asus.

Am I really the only one (on here at least) with the issue of all wired LAN devices losing connection but WiFi staying active? I don't enable QoS simply because I'm on gigabit WAN. Can anybody else here who uses wired LAN on their main PC/MAC/'NIX, who would notice if that wired connection dropped, please comment on their experiences? Maybe my unit is bad.

This is the first I have seen of this issue, so it could possibly be the router. I would carry out a process of elimination - change cables etc. I had issues with ports 1,2,5,6 slowing down to a crawl (rectified by disabling and enabling Ethernet on PC) but nothing like this.
What are you system logs showing when this occurs?
Also use the Feedback in the router as this attaches all the logs to the feedback when sent and is probably a more efficient way to report problems than via support email.
 
I was able to save my settings and do a reset to factory, then reloaded my configuration. Pretty painless.

The only problem I have found so far is one that has been there since day one. On the network map screen, I prefer to go through the various devices defined by MAC address only and assign names I understand. This seems to be limited to about 10 devices before it refuses to keep any more. I have reported it via the feedback.

I use a 16 port gig switch off the back of this router. I currently use port 7 off the router for this. There is some not the normal switch elements on the 8 ports and this seemed to be the best based on their descriptions.

Gaming ports (1~2) Connect network cables into these ports to prioritize the packets. Link Aggregation ports (5~6) Connect network cables into these ports to use link aggregation (802.11ad). LAN ports (3~4,7~8) Connect network cables into these ports to establish LAN connection.

Update to my woes. After nearly an hour trying to get my network back in shape last night while friends were over (and kids running around being crazy since internet movies weren't working), I looked down and saw that my Kindle Fire HDX wasn't connecting to my Blue Iris home surveillance system. Then I remembered that my Netgear R7000 was adversely affected by the HDX, where whenever data would pass through from the HDX it would literally crash the router. Happened every time I tested it (about half a dozen times, and there are a few small reports of this happening to others...but you gotta dig around to find them). So even though I didn't have any issues using it or my current setup for the first month of owning my Asus ROG, I decided to turn the HDX off and see how things went. All night and today was spotless on network services using 11243. Even our IP cam in the infant room which usually required a refresh of the stream every few hours (through the Amcrest app) never lost connectivity. So I decided to be gutsy and re-upgrade to 15564, reset factory settings and set everything up again. Keeping the HDX off of course. Two hours and everything is spot on so far. I wonder if the Kindle Fire HDX was causing some catastrophic event in this router too. It's very odd, but it's been working too well with the HDX off to be a coincidence.

So I decided to be gutsy and re-upgrade to 15564, reset factory settings and set everything up again. Keeping the HDX off of course. Two hours and everything is spot on so far. I wonder if the Kindle Fire HDX was causing some catastrophic event in this router too. It's very odd, but it's been working too well with the HDX off to be a coincidence.
That is why if you have issues such as you had, it is recommended that you have only 1 device connected (generally hard wired PC) and slowly add devices one by one to determine if it is a device issue.
My current issue is with PPPOE not re-establishing a connection after a reboot or settings change that necessitates a disconnect/reconnect of the PPOE and the only way to reconnect is by hard resetting the Fiber ONT. I am sure that it is the router not sending a disconnect packet (PADT) to the POP and the ISP assumes I am still connected.

Easier said and preached in practice than done when you have a network of 30+ devices, kids who use the internet, and work from home. Time to test network functionality one device at-a-time is not a luxury I have. But it really matters nothing to anybody here because I discovered my own resolution. Either way, preach on. You would have done the same as I in the same circumstance. And as mentioned earlier, WiFi was never impacted by disconnects until last night. Only wired before then. The symptoms didn't lead to a WiFi culprit. As soon as it did, I found what seems to be a resolution so far.

I have 3 teenagers who all game, over 30 devices connected and I also work from home. My issue was not the same as yours, I did however have the network slowing down to a crawl when applying certain settings on the router. This issue necessitated the removal of all devices from the network and the adding of all the devices one by one until I discovered the issue. All I did was tell them all to go and do something else for about 2 hours while I fixed the problem. I have dealt directly with Asus Engineers for the last 4 weeks and worked through quite a few issues with this router with them, pushed them for beta firmware, which I have linked to for other users to try out. I don't preach, I try and help.

This is my last reply on the topic of our debate. You had a far different set of symptoms than I, leading to far more uncertainty that it could have been any device (if it was a device at all) causing the performance hit. Your issues facilitated that troubleshooting. My symptoms, as stated, were that only wired connections dropped. So I did remove all four wired devices and add them one by one, but even with only my office in a box phone being connected the issue prevailed. So I actually changed those wired connections to only use wireless so I could at lease band-aid the issue while troubleshooting. Then a blessing happened of all connections dropping, even WiFi (which was all I was using at that time), which made me start thinking about each WiFi device and led me to the resolution being implemented 30 minutes later after new FW flashing. So as you see, I went through proper troubleshooting based on my symptoms. You did too based on yours. As symptoms developed, I adapted and changed process. But even dedicating 2 hours in one chunk to this process is incredibly difficult with how much stuff I do for and am involved with my family (and work, naturally, wearing more than a few high responsibility hats in engineering and department managing). My kids are just under 2 years old and 6 years old, so it's a bit harder to tell them to go do something else (not the 2 year old, the 6 year old though, especially when she just got off of being restricted from using any technology for 5 days for throwing a tantrum about us not giving her more money for games at a play place last week). But regardless, proper troubleshooting steps were done and the issue was resolved in the matter of a few days since it became severe.
 
Starting today,
see the following in the log on the production code 3.0.0.382_15564. When I went to send via the feedback if failed.. Had to manually send in. (FYI- goes to router_feedback@asus.com)
I only have one port on the switch of the router used which is port 7 going to a 16 port gig switch which is the core switch in my house of many other smaller switches. All gig of course. Anyway, here is the error in the log.

There is nothing on eth6 nor eth8. Very strange error. Code has only been running 16 hours since full reset to default and rebuild. I most likely will restart the router by the end of today.
*UPDATE: I tried to remote reboot the router. It locked up on restart. Required power off/on to get back up.

Reminder to all. We are technical experts in our fields, advanced hobbyist of networking. None of us work for ASUS. We are only trying to help one another and those who find us via searching for help for like issues. Thanks to a few tickets with ASUS Engineers, this thread has been noticed and reviewed. Hopefully ASUS gurus can find software solutions quickly to the errors we are coming across.

I own a Rt-Ac5300, is it worth a change to this GT one?

How better is the signal range and strenght?

With the latest beta firmware my range is extremely good as well as stability. If you have money to burn go for it.
