The infamous & annoying

May 14 22:35:04 kernel: printk: 38 messages suppressed.
May 14 22:35:04 kernel: nf_ct_ras: decoding error: out of bound

is back in the logs

Otherwise it seems a pretty stable build for my setup.

Thanks RMerlin

Cheers !

374.40 USB 3G Modem Huawey E372 working.
374.42 - no more

I also checked with Asus firmware "RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374_5517-g302e4dc" and I've got he same results: cannot connect to 3G Modem anymore.
LE: For the previous Asus firmware "RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374_4561-g5f5c8d8" IT IS WORKING JUST FINE.

So, it's something they've done between these 2 versions and it reflects on Merlin's versions as well.

Total anecdote and only speaking personally, I've had zero problems with the .42 build on my 68U. Wi-Fi performance is fast and stable, but I've also disabled all beamforming for good measure (why complicate things, right?).

It was working great until ~48 hours after I installed .42 (AC-68R). Then wifi throughput would slowly drop to zero on multiple devices.

2.4G and 5G were already locked to a single band. I disabled beamforming with no change. Then I reduced 2.4G bandwidth to 20MHz (from 20/40MHz) and all seems to be running well for ~24 hours now.

42 has been rock solid for me here but I see this in the log this morning I have never been good a understanding what these entries mean can someone tell me if this is anything to worry about. I don't seem to be having any problems. Thanks Jim !

I have the same log flooding going on that started two days ago with the same question, is there something to worry about here. Thanks

Back to 41 because comcast ipv6

Tried reflashing 42, tried unplugging for 10 mins, and tried multiple reboots but my comcast ipv6 just wont hold with 42 so I went back to 41 and it works. i know you said comcast was flakey but I just wanted to give you feedback!

Comcast here as well using 42 this is what I do to get v6 every time. Turn off router and modem. Restart modem let it fully boot then turn on router let it fully boot I get a v6 address every time with that start up sequence.

Merlin never did respond to my question about this it happens here about every two days. I think this could be the router renewing the ipv6 address when the comcast v6 lease expires. Although it's just a guess causes no issues that I can see. Certainly better then all the neighbor table overflows from the past builds.

There's definitely a bug with the Media Server panel. I reflashed 374.42 without clearing the NVRAM and it still doesn't restore the full Media Server panel screen.

My last resort was to restore factory default and input all my settings again :(

The moment when I go to the Media Server panel to insert a media server directory, I encountered the same problem after I clicked "Apply".

Since I'm unable to add a directory this way, could any kind soul please advise me how can I do it via Telnet, please.

The directory I'm trying to add is /mnt/seagate/backup.

Thank you very much.

I had the same issue. I restored back to factory defaults, changed the names of my folders so they only have alphanumeric characters (some had &, 's, etc...), added my folders back minidlna, and that solved the issue

374.42_2 is now officially available for the RT-AC56/RT-AC68. This release is only for the Time Machine issue.

There has been no change since the two test builds I uploaded earlier.

Tried flashing to 42, but my router cannot connect to the internet after....

The last stable release for my N-66 is release 40 with entware with Transmission and Opendns.

What struck me.

What I also noticed the AC68 and version .42
When I connect to the GUI and I go to the WAN side I get this in the Internet settings.

picture.php

But this is wrong because I, dialing me only with a USB modem to the Internet and this is the page for the Wan connection.

I change the tab on dual-Wan.

And then go back to the tab Internet connection to get on the right side.

In .41 version there was not the problem.

Can this be related the the modem no longer dials automatically when the connection is disconnected by the ISP once a day.

Am now back to .41 and it seems to work.

Hi,

Shutdown Entware and remove USB-Devices and then try again to update.

Should work without problems...

With kind regards
Joe

PPTP VPN.
When adding a username and password credentials are shown perfectly at first.
But after a while the password is scrambled. Never noticed this before in previous builds.

I had some issues with the VPN service, it would just not let me log on/in. I reverted back to 5656 and it works fine. Not sure if it was me, probobly was.
