Problem solved. I used the AC2900 firmware instead of the AC86U firmware. Now it upgraded without issues.

I had a working no-ip DDNS configuration on 386.7_2. When upgrading to 386.9 the GUI reported an error for DDNS and the DNS indeed did not get updated. I have problems to upgrade since 386.4 on a RT-AC68U. When trying to upgrade firmware, the router goes into "Please Wait, Applying settings" then logout and after login still on the same version - even if I try 386.5_2
Nothing in the system log.
I am sure I use the correct version for the router.
Does not help to reboot.
No mesh setup other than router is in Wireless router mode / AiMesh Router mode (Default)
I have one AP connected.
Haven't tried a hard reset yet as I would like to understand the problem if possible
I had the NVRAM low memory message before upgrading to 386.4 which disappear after hard reset.

Any ideas what I can try other than hard reset?

Have any problem with 386.9 on AC86U? Because i upgraded to this version (from previous), and all mornings freezing all of the router system. No internet, no admin page, i can only power off and on. This works to next morning... And freeze again. Before no made this.

What can i do? I need Merlin because i use my router as a NAS, need Entware.

Wild guess... Are you using the T-Mobile version (TM-AC1900) of the RT-AC68U? Note that discussions on how to circumvent the lockdown or fix incorrect configuration of that unit which may prevent later versions of firmware from being installed may be generally prohibited here. Search the internet for discussions elsewhere on that specific incorrect unit flash/configuration issue.

Hi All, I am having an issue getting an ip from my ISP since the 386.7_0 version and I get the same issue with 386.9. I am using a services-start script to get the ip (v4) but it fails on my RT-AC68U. If I run the script manually, udhcp seems to get the ip but the router doesn't connect ... If I revert to 386.5_2, it works like a charm. Any clues?

Edit: problem due to a file rename. udhcpc parameter should be "-s /tmp/udhcpc_wan" now.

Have you checked the log(s) on the RT-AC68U to see if they show a reason or cause?

Except had this in the log yesterday, couldn't find this in historical logs or in previous fw logs... from the spelling Ill assume Asus added something.... just curious about it

What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Have you done a hard factory reset? When doing a hard factory reset disconnect the USB hard drive if one is attached to the router before doing the hard factory reset.

Don't rely on restoring /jffs if you are having issues. Once scripting is re-enabled, simply launch amtm to reinstall whatever scripts that you use — during reinstallation, presence of entware should be detected.

Not a complett jffs, only the scripts and configs dir (like email send, firewall rules etc.). It worked fine about years No occaused mistakes previously. And this scripts needs to use router as i want (i bougth because this router can do this things).

I reseted router (hard reset, WPS+Power). Now is try reconfiguring. Many many time. I hope that the problem will be solving. Thanks.
