don't try to flash over WiFi...

I flash over WiFi all the time. Don't flash remotely but doing so over wifi not the problem it used to be.

Thanks Merlin, it looks like the wireless driver that came with the latest 2695 GPL for 68U/P has even a newer built date(April) than the one ASUS released with beta 2695(March) firmware.

RT-AC66U
IPTV working perfectly, but using a script, not gui to make the setup.
VPN working fine.
Samba working fine.

One strange quirk. 5G wifi led not lit. It flashes on for a fraction of a second as the router boots, but then goes off. 5G is enabled in gui. Radio seems to be working because 5G client can see it and connect, but no internet service.
Disable 5G and re-enable brings the led on and internet then works.
2.4G is no problem.
Upgraded from 380.58, NOT done factory reset (yet). This may be the reason.

Installed on my ac66u and everything looks fine.

Merlin,

For 380-59-Beta-1, I see that the wireless version and date is in March (wl0: Mar 21 2016 15:22:48 version 6.37.14.126 (r561982), Quantenna Firmware: 37.4.0.56) for 87R and for some other routers, I see that it's in April. Any ideas or do I have the latest wireless driver? Thanks.

Thanks for the Beta, Merlin.

Had better go and buy the new iPad Pro (9.7") to test MU-MIMO ;-)

Just wanted to report that the Astrill Router applet is still not working with this build on the AC-88U. Obviously it's going to require a

Oops - going to require some involvement from the Astrill devs to get it working again.

It's ok - i have other options that work well.

Anybody testet if Reapeter-Modus is working on AC68?

And don't forget to ensure that you're cabled up - don't try to flash over WiFi...

I do 90% of my router flashing over Wifi, never ran into a single issue. It's fine, as long you don't have a highly unstable connection.

I made a big jump today on my AC68U - from 378.56_2 to 380.59 beta1 - all seems ok except my usb3.0 downgraded to usb2.0

Disable the option related to USB 3.0 interference.

MiniDLNA at page http://router.asus.com:8200/ is "Not Found"

Asus disabled some of minidlna's web-related features, presumably as part of the security hardening they've began applying to the firmware.

It's probably just a rebuild, unless they included the wrong version in the GPL tarball.

Each router runs a different driver, you can't compare their build dates between models. I use whatever driver Asus included in the 2695/2697 GPL, except for the RT-AC3200 which had an incomplete GPL release.

Looks like ASUS reuploaded the GPL for AC56U on Friday 4/22 and the archive is not corrupt this time. Does it now include the missing components to make 380.59 beta 1?

No, it's the same incomplete tarball from March 22nd.

Hopefully they get it together by the time you release the final version, so we have a complete release for all models.

Already asked them twice, with little luck. Not gonna pester them any longer on this specific issue.

The version seems to be the same 6.37.14.126 (r561982) however, the first line after "wl ver"are different, stock is 6.37 RC14.126 while beta 1 is 6.37.RC14.86, I don't know if that even means anything.

From ASUS beta stock .2695
Code:
ASUSWRT RT-AC68U_9.0.0.4 Mon Mar 21 08:16:51 UTC 2016
@RT-AC68P:/tmp/home/root# wl ver
6.37 RC14.126
wl0: Mar 21 2016 16:28:47 version 6.37.14.126 (r561982)

From Merlin's .59 beta 1
Code:
ASUSWRT-Merlin RT-AC68U 380.59-beta1-g3b6a743 Sun Apr 24 17:20:10 UTC 2016

Hi,

Im looking for a suggestion to "set" UMTS only meaning that I have a extremly unreliable connection via a USB modem (summer house) and I think that this could be the case when I lose my connection 3 - 5 times per day. After almost every restart I get a connection again.

I have created a cron job with a wget spider check and after 5 retries a restart of the WAN and after 4 more minutes without a httpresponse of 200 I do a router reboot.

The only method to prevent a handover between a GPRS and an UMTS station during the process of optimizing, is to initiate the device to use 'UMTS only' in the first place.

Where to put this line of code?
"" "AT+CSQ"

Any other suggestions to make my line "better" via the software?

I have a ASUS rt87u with 380.59_b1, ZTE MF831 with antenna enhancer.

Sorry if I post this in the wrong topic, hopefully someone could me a hint to proceed.

/Christian from Sweden
