I'm back! Everything upgraded! @RMerlin doesn't deal in eye candy. The feature has a need or it's not added, period. This is at a glance network usage, nothing more. Great work on this firmware as usual!;)

Unrelated but.... Is it possible on terminal to have the uptime in "Unix" format? I mean, in seconds - instead of having a 1 hour uptime, getting 3600 as a value.
Thanks.

On point on all four points.

You mean the router's uptime in seconds?

You can use the proc filesystem:

cat /proc/uptime

This file contains two numbers: the uptime of the system (seconds), and the amount of time spent in idle process (seconds).

Your router must be running out of nvram space or JFFS space to store them.

NVRAM usage 66281 / 131072 bytes
JFFS 47.34 / 48.00 MB

JFFS seems almost full, but I didn't put anything there:

Use "du -h" command on /jffs and see the exact file sizes and figure out what's using the space.

My jffs size is fine but the question I have is the 50.8k crashlog file can I delete it or does it have to stay?

You can delete it without any issues. In fact you can delete any log file without worrying too much. (Assuming you're not using some externel scripts which pulls data out of it)

Check in /jffs/.sys/ , it's often caused by the Traffic Analyzer database.

Thanks. This is my Traffic Analyzer data:

Code:
fbreve@RT-AC86U-4D48:/jffs/.sys/TrafficAnalyzer# ls -la
drw-rw-rw- 2 fbreve root 0 Apr 18 03:19 .
drwxrwxrwx 7 fbreve root 0 Apr 27 11:33 ..
-rw-rw-rw- 1 fbreve root 31483904 Apr 27 12:52 TrafficAnalyzer.db
-rw-rw-rw- 1 fbreve root 27258856 Apr 18 03:29 TrafficAnalyzer.db-journal

My web interface stops responding whenever I enter the Traffic Analyzer Statistics tab. Maybe it's related.

Use "du -h" command on /jffs and see the exact file sizes and figure out what's using the space.

Thanks. I didn't know this command:

Code:
fbreve@RT-AC86U-4D48:/jffs# du -h
0 ./scripts
0 ./.le/fabricio.asuscomm.com/backup
17.5K ./.le/fabricio.asuscomm.com

86.0K ./.sys/nc
60.9M ./.sys
2.5K ./.cert
62.3M .

Maybe I should leave Traffic Analyzer off.
Edit: Apparently there is no way to do it.

Just SSH into the router and delete the TrafficAnalyzer file.

Also once you've cleared the file you can turn off TA from here.

there is any improve on asus rc5300 against the oem version last one updateVersión 3.0.0.4.384.81792?

mainly speed and distance on connections

And I believe the bin symbol right under the on/off switch is for deleting/resetting the traffic analyzer file...

I don't use TA as you can see from the screen shot but I also just noticed the Bin icon and I believe you're right.

Dirty upgrade on an RT-AC88U, RT-AC68/1900U from 384.15 to 384.17, so far so good. These are 2 of my WAP only units. Saving the two main full routers an RT-AC86U and RT-AC68 for a quieter time as they are running the AMTM stuff too. THANKS!

All good after dirty upgrade . Many thanks!

the reset is mandatory to do it after update, because the user pass doesnt works after i understood
Only if you are running a current stock ASUS firmware and decide to flash Merlin. Merlin to Merlin updates should be fine without resetting.

On what router model? Going from Asus 384.81792 to Merlin 384.17 on RT-AC86U is a matter of flash and reboot. Also going back and forth few releases on Asus and Merlin doesn't require reset. The more basic config the better chance to jump firmware with no issues. Between firmware releases on the same branch. IT guy here on covid vacation. I reset only if there is no other option. I don't burn my entire backyard to get rid of few weeds. :D
