I updated to that firmware. I enabled QoS and set it for my ISP speed. I also enabled Game Boost. I was able to play a game and browse net at same time. With old firmware when you would play a game with these enabled the net wouldn't work.

The RAM issue has not been fixed. It was at 500MB usage then I downloaded a file from NAS and it went to 906MB usage and hasn't gone down after 15+ minutes.

I also noticed the following things

Network Ping - 13.566ms
Ping Deviation - 1.211ms

The Ping Deviation used to be under 0.80ms.

Not sure what these numbers really mean? I Xbox Battlefield 1 Ping is always 25-30ms regardless.

Just make sure you are reporting any issues via the Feedback system and ensure that they are being sent, as sometimes is says complete, but the fine writing tells you that it has actually failed.

Still also getting 500+ entries in log file with the following. I also noticed they added a NAT option. You can select On or Off now. I wish it would allow for Secured or Open as the RT-AC5300 does.

This is normal behaviour under Linux, unused RAM gets allocated to disk buffers. That memory gets freed if a program actively needs it.

Yea I know that. I have a CentOs 7x CloudLinux server with 512GB RAM. It's not all cached yet though. On the RT-AC5300 it never cached the RAM like it's doing now so I wasn't sure. I'm very well known/used to caching on Linux. Thanks for the confirmation.

The file MarkSW is production code software. Just not up on the website yet. You can tell with ASUS via the first number in the code. If it is a 9, it is beta. If it is a 3, it is production release.
Report any issues with this or any future code releases via the Administration Tab, then Feedback tab. This provides quick info and reported problems back to Ops dev team. Just looking at your log, I am going to guess the error has to do with your dyndns. I see a watchdog error which is usually a major software failure. The feedback will include a copy of the log with that error. You could also add a quick request for OpenNAT option with the feedback.

They removed Alexa (don't know reason) - wo_alexa_ in title means without I would assume.
It is imperative that everyone does a factory reset (was advised by Engineer) after installing firmware and then manually add settings - probably due to significant changes in the code.

I didn't do a reset and all works just fine. I had to many custom things to have to start from scratch..

You need to due a reset as advised by Asus Engineer.
Probably why you are getting those QOS messages.

That's because on the RT-AC5300, Asus is forcing a buffer flush every couple of seconds. They did this for all the BCM ARMv7-based models. This is something that I made configurable on my firmware.

Over ssh you can view where the memory is currently allocated through "free -m".

I used to get them but not anymore after following their instructions. I think the Engineers are a little more qualified than us and if they said reset router due to all the code changes, I would recommend you do it.

I'll try it after my game. The problem was it took me an hour to setup when I got it.

Has anyone been able to get a VPN working through the VPN Client settings page? If so what VPN are you using. I am using IPVanish and have never been able to get a connection even though it's active and has a the green check mark.

Reset and all reconfigured. For some reason my Dell Gaming 1500 5576 laptop only gets 200mbps LAN speed. It gets 100mbps on wireless as well. I have a 350mbps connection and all my other devices get 350 with no issues. The laptop has a 1Gbps LAN port so I'm stumped. Even Dell is stumped..

Will test to see if I get the paid app error in log after an hour or two.
