Looked at NordVPN?
I temporarily tried NordVPN while trying to help debug a problem. At least for me, the performance was pretty bad......about 1/2 of what I normally can obtain. Granted, I didn't do a lot of searching for the 'best' server, but my first impression was not good.

For the past few versions I seem to consistently have the same issue with the UI on chrome, every few reloads I get the following timeout;

\
And the non minified version;

I couldn't reproduce it on edge, but to be fair I didn't try for very long. Am I the only one?

out of quriosity have you cleared the browser cache, also try leaving it powered off for the night, but if theres not issue in edge then dont worry.

I've tried everything you can think of, as far as formatting the router/a fresh windows install, private browser without plugins enabled etc. Its a chrome specific problem as far as I can tell and I can reproduce it fairly easily.

i see, hmmmm... well a freind of mine fixed one of my rp-ac68u's both of which were bricked, he had gui isssues in fire fox, but he gave them back to me, i left them powered off for 2 weeks or so, powered on the one he manged to fix and the gui was perfectly fine after. its just a suggestion, in the case that it does help.

Just flashed 380.67 alpha3 from alpha2 dated June 12. No issues to report and no factory reset required. VPN speed tests are normal range for my connection.

Some errors after updating to alpha 3. Works OK and hopefully nothing serious.

Check the MTU and MRU setting on the WAN page. PPPoE is usually 1492 as there is 8 bytes used for the header.

do you kow the mtu for ipoe, i have ipoe on my vdsl2 isp, not sure if 1500 is correct. Also any mtu value below 1500 causes the internet not to reconnect, i had the same issue with only the mru if i set it below 1492 under pppoe

5 gHz working on AC66U in bridge modus. Alpha 3 on both AC66U and AC87U. Thank you so much for your hard work Merlin!!!

I would check with your internet provider. I have seen mine install fiber at several sites I support with some MTU set at 1492 and others at 1500. I never have followed up as to why. But they both work.

Four attempts so far. Apparently, no chance to upgrade to Alpha 3 (RT-AC87U).
And: "Please restart the router manually" ???

I used to have a problem upgrading due to how much was running on the firmware. Restart your router & wait about 10 mins. After that, upgrade the firmware without a restart until it is complete. Basically, I found the firmware would fail to upgrade because it was still completing startup scripts. See if that helps for you.

Other than one of my 2.4GHz antennas showing up under Tools | Network | Ethernet Ports as connected to LAN 5, everything else seems to be functioning quite well in Alpha 3. Thank you @RMerlin :cool:
