[Alpha] Preview builds for Asuswrt-Merlin 380.61

What were the ways to downgrade, if any, from .60 to older?

Please forgive my "noobness". I'm a little confused on versioning. 380.60 is in beta 2 and 380.61 is in alpha. Are you dropping the 380.60 release and moving to 380.61 instead?

That's correct. A few uncommon WAN issues with the code base used with 380.60, and there are too many changes in the newer Asus code to simply move it as beta 3 - the whole testing/development cycle has to be restarted from the beginning.

380.60 will end as a Beta release.

Thank you. Finally an N66U build. I'll test and report any issues.

Edit: Working well so far though I don't really use much of the non-default options. Range seems just as good as John's was just by reading the RSSI, though I know that's not a reliable measurement, but I still have full 150Mbps upstairs as I previously did.

Download the good fw(merlin or asus) and the restoration tool from Asus site
Press and HOLD RESET button and power on the router....Release power button but keep pressing RESET til leds flash slowly, you are now in REcovery mode
Look at my link, you need to do some steps after( this is for AC66, but it worked with my AC68 )

I installed it on one of my RT-N66 you machines and no problems so far.

On a different machine, I ran into this problem:

dnsmasq[555]: bad IPv4 address at line 19 of /etc/dnsmasq.conf
dnsmasq[555]: FAILED to start up

This problem repeats itself many times as dsnmasq attempts to restart itself.

When I looked at the dnsmasq.conf, Line 19 (eblow in bold), you can see it has two commas following the number "6"...

I went to the router LAN, DHCP Server page and removed the DNS Server 1 and DNS Server 2 and all worked well. But when I enter a DNS address again, the double comma problem came back...

I wonder why I'm seeing the problem in this router and not in the other one.

Asus changed that part of the code, and their change were a bit similar to my own changes, but different enough that I had to rewrite part of that code. I'll have to take another look at the new code generating the DNS configuration.

I was about to update, should I hold back until you look into this issue or will it be fine with a none defined dns.

I just tried with 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as DNS servers and everything is fine, no errors in log and no double commas in dnsmasq.conf.

Starting with firmware version 380.59 (380.60 beta2, 380.61 alpha1) external HDD does not work in USB 3.0, but in USB 2.0 mode works normally.
The error log over-current change on port 1 (2) with no connected devices. This is a bug in the firmware or a problem with the device?

Confirmed, same issue on N66U.

Decided to put this on my RT-AC68U. I am using the ISP assigned DNS servers. No wireless is active. No QoS enabled. NAT HW Accel is disabled. Trend-Micro statistics enabled. DSL Reports Speedtest:

Just have to wait and see how internet behaves and if I get that same series of ISP DHCP messages when/if internet goes wacky.

I seem to be having an issue with traffic monitoring.
I am unable to store stats on usb. No file is created and log is full off:

Realtime data is working fine.

No problem here. Make sure to choose yes on "Create or reset data files" in Tools --> Other Settings.
