ntpq -p -c rv

and if folks are concerned about x86 - here's ARM - really cheap china board - NanoPi Neo2

But at the end of the day - it still has a good idea of what time it is - and a sub-20 dollar ARM board..

Code:
sfx@nano2:~$ ntpq -p -c rv
remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter

anyways - router/AP's have to have a tolerance for stability - and this is for both ethernet and wifi to work properly...

busybox/sysntpd is good enough - 30 ppm there...

I'm having to sort 50 ppb at the moment...

Busybox ntpd cannot be queried by ntpq, unless I'm missing something?

How do I get to that display? I have ntpmerlin installed and can't find where that display should be on my Asus RT-AC68U. TIA

Before using this script (many thanks, Jack Yaz) I was using the old NTP daemon installation by @kvic. Installation of the new script gave me a second tab named NTP Daemon. Seeing that the new script works perfectly I tried to uninstall the old version and did everything from the removal instructions apart from the last item
Code:
rm -rf opt var www
because I did not know if this would break something. Now the old NTP Daemon tab is still under Tools but gives a 404 error. How do I get rid of the tab? Do I really have to remove the whole directory?

P.S. I was unable to submit this posting with the slashes in the path...

Did you try all of these uninstall commands below per https://github.com/kvic-z/goodies-asuswrt/wiki/Install-NTP-Daemon-for-Asuswrt-Merlin?

Code:
[Uninstall

unstall rddtool and wget through Entware
remove the lines you added to /jffs/scripts/post-mount and /jffs/scripts/services-start

rm /jffs/bin/ntpd
rm /jffs/bin/ntpq
rm /jffs/bin/ntpstats.sh
rm /jffs/etc/ntp.conf
rm /jffs/configs/fstab
rm /opt/etc/init.d/S77ntpd-custom
rm /opt/var/spool/ntp/Tools_NtpdStats.asp
rm /opt/var/spool/ntp/stats.rrd
rm -rf /opt/var/www
reboot/CODE]

Then you may have to reinstall Jack Yaz’s ntpMerlin.

The last step (removing the www directory) was my concern - will it be populated again after a reboot?

I just re-read the removal instructions and then again the installation procedure - and realized that it tells me to remove the copy of www which I had created by myself during the installation

GUI is cleaned - thanks for your patience!

im just wondering if there is any reliable alternative ntp servers other than au.pool.ntp.org?
for Australia specifically I would really appreciate the help.

You could just use

pool.ntp.org

but I would be using this in the NTP Merlin config file

server 0.au.pool.ntp.org
server 1.au.pool.ntp.org
server 2.au.pool.ntp.org
server 3.au.pool.ntp.org

https://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/au

Been having issues with it I was wondering if there is any other alternative servers, that are also accurate, if not I'll just go back to them.

odd behavior, my system log and other services on the router are reporting an hour behind, but all my devices on the network are sync the correct time. what could be the cause for syslog-ui-scribe, ntpdaemon charts, connmon, and uidivstats to all report the time an hour behind?

An incorrectly set timezone on your router would be my first guess. NTP doesn't know anything about timezones. It only deals with UTC, each computer determines the "local" time by adding the local UTC offset to the time served by NTP. I'm near Los Angeles, and it's Daylight Saving Time now, so my offset is UTC -7; if it's 15:00 UTC, it's 15:00 - 7 = 08:00 here.
