Not connected just to this beta since I'm experiencing this for some time now. Once a week on average, my DDNS stays on old IP instead of changing to new IP after WAN reconnected. It happened today also, but I don't see anything strange in logs. I'm using DuckDNS, so maybe they have some timeouts or? But it is strange that script reports everything ok in logs.

Code:
Jul 7 03:06:43 ddns: update CUSTOM , wan_unit 0
Jul 7 03:06:44 ddns: Clear ddns cache.
Jul 7 03:06:44 custom_script: Running /jffs/scripts/ddns-start (args: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
Jul 7 03:06:49 ddns: Completed custom ddns update

@RMerlin
Asuswrt-merlin site states that RT-AX-56U is EOL and last version for it is 3004.388.7

Though sourceforge indicates that RT-AX56U_3004_388.8_beta1 was build...

So i'm confused if 3004.388.8 is going to be released for it or not?

Check recent changelogs. RT-AX56U has been exceptionally included in the last few releases because Asus provided a GPL for it last time I merged the GPL, which was unexpected. It will be dropped again next time a new GPL gets merged.

I thought it was only for 3004.388.6 / 3004.388.7 where RT-AX56U was exceptionally included in that releases.

Do you know when will next GPL merge happen?

The last 3 versions of Merlin are all based on the same GPL it has not changed. This is why the AX56U is still included.

Depends on how much development Asus has done on top of the current GPL to justify the need for a new GPL merge. I will probably ask for an updated GPL for 3004.388.9, so probably sometime this autumn.

Once 3004.388.8 and 386.14 are out, the current plan is to switch to working on 3006.102.2 with the addition of more models to that branch. So 3004.388.9 would happen once that's done.

Since none of the changes in 388.8 affect me (no VPN, no scripts, no add-ons) and the GPL has not changed, is there any reason to update my AX86U once 388.8 is released?

What about this in the changelog?

REMOVED: Wifi Radar was removed (unsupported by Wifi 7 devices,
and security issues cited by Asus in their own recent
releases).

There are a number of security fixes and random bug fixes as well that aren't in the changelog. For instances there are fixes at the IPv6 level, improved UPnP standard compliance, etc...

So I have a little issue. I installed merlin beta on Asus be98 pro and it bricked it. I'm not sure what exactly went wrong as I'm not new to installing Merlin's firmware. I tried to recover using firmware restoration, which usually works, but didn't this time.

Are you in the right discussion? This is the discussion on the 3004.388.8 firmware. There isn't a version of 3004.388.8 for the BE98_Pro. Did you somehow flash the wrong firmware to your router?

The stable 3006.102.1 firmware which supports the BE98_Pro can be discussed here:

My mistake. I was in the correct one but had to log in again and accidentally picked the incorrect forum. I did flash the correct one and I'll post in the correct forum. Thank you!

GT-AXE16000, Dirty upgrade from 388.4, had 1 odd issue.
Not using vpn, but after update I had no IP for the WAN. Not using any custom scripts, nor Trend or QOS stuff. Pretty much basic routing.
Gave an error about no DHCP from ISP.
I noticed it did the update fairly quickly without rebooting.
Gave it a few while I checked other stuff, but it never got an IP, so did a reboot and it was good after that.

Other than that, all else seems good 24 hrs later.

It did fix an odd issue I had.
The WiFi icon in the upper right showed the 2.4 disabled, even though it was enabled. It showed the correct channels for both 5ghz and It properly showed that 6ghz was disabled. I had tried disabling and re-enabling the 2.4 at one point, but still showed disabled.
More of a minor annoyance and only if I hovered over that, so no big deal and 2.4 works fine.
After this flash it fixed that and it shows the proper channel now.

More devices no longer are able to connect or randomly disconnecting after upgrading to beta, i know you said no changes, but it's a semi brand new router...

Switchbot app fails to connect to curtain models randomly, not triggering alarms
Heating floor Warmup Plc thermostat stickymat gives connection errors
Tahoma app, as previously reported, random errors.

It's all apps now that rely on wifi devices
